Union Martial Arts was founded in 2013 by Maestro Mark Anastacio, in Ontario. Through a decade of experience and over a hundred students, Union Martial Arts has found a home in NW Calgary. Once four walls and mats, the academy has become a home away from home for our community. We developed our curriculum to ensure every member can achieve and perform at their highest potential. Our team is proudly responsible for building confidence. Our world class instructors manifest our goals by leading our students through confidence, discipline, self-defence, honour and integrity.

Mark is the founder of Union Martial Arts and also the youngest awarded maestro (Master) in the World Bais Tres Manos Federation. Mark emphasizes the discipline and hard work in the gym is far more valuable than a trophy. With his high level of experience, he combines his knowledge in martial arts and teaching ability to deliver results to all his students. Mark is an innovator in developing new teaching methods and drills to teach through his life passion to others.

Nel has over a decade of experience, starting his BJJ journey in 2015. He has competed in CBJJF, Submission Ace, Mind Body Soul and Grappling Industries to name a few. His expertise in fundamental and applied knowledge from his extensive competition background cements the foundation of our BJJ program.

Jeff has over 15 years of training in Muay Thai, building an amateur record of 24-2 and a professional MMA record of 4-1. Jeff is a certified Kru and a BJJ Black Belt under Gracie Barra. Jeff has had the privilege of training with world class athletes including GSP, Ryan Hall, Firas Zahabi, Aieman Zahabi, Denis Puric, Nong-O, Saenchai, Petchtanong, Doo-ho Choi, and many others.

Jeremy is one of the original members to help open our doors. He has shared his knowledge on the mats since day one as one of the most valuable training partners possible. He now transitions into his role as one of our main coaches for our competition team.
